Olly Murs -Right Place Right Time

As my first review I thought I would choose to review Olly Murs' album Right Place Right Time.  The songs in it depict a carefree attitude and although they have a youthful quality, it isn't so overpowering that it would repel adults in any way from enjoying them to.

It is a great playlist with lots of variation between the tunes of songs and the lyrics. For example What a buzz is very different from One of These Days. A proportion on the songs are happy and bouncy and most of them have a catchy chorus which is great to tap and sing to.
The first single, Army of two and Loud & Clear have intriguing intros have a very classical edge before leading into the melody which is quite controversial for Murs. In fact the intro of Army of Two is so unusual that I began to wonder whether I had definitely put the right CD in!

There is a noticeable contrast between the 'happy' and more emotional songs. Personally I prefer happier songs in general but Cry your heart out is one of my favourite singles on this CD. Even if Murs isn't singing this from the heart, the 'pain' in the song comes across through the tune and the texture of it which makes the song very effective and I find it hard not to hear it without singing the at least chorus. My other favourite is What A Buzz as it is an innocent song with a good melody and is the song that anyone would manage to hum to.

Out of the three albums Olly Murs has released, this has to be my favourite because the songs are all masterpieces in their own right. I extremely like this album and would recommend it to anyone who likes happy songs and pop songs. I give this album 8/10. I hope you enjoyed my first review and if you read to the end, thank you
